Lisa Dawn Smither Wahl

Lisa Dawn Smither Wahl, age 56, of Sanders and formerly of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.Born April 30, 1961, in Oldham County, she was the daughter of the late Morton Smither and Bill and Ruby "Sug" Yochum McDanell.  Lisa was a graduate of Owen County High School and attended Southern Ohio College.  She worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Labor Cabinet and loved music, singing and playing the piano.Surviving are her husband, Dwane Wahl; her daughters, Katlyn (Mint) Miller and Hannah Franks; her sisters, Margo Doty and Sheila Smither and her four grandchildren, Branson, Chevelle, David, and Waylen.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 10 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to The Healing Place, 1020 West Market Street, Louisville, KY 40202
