Linda Haydon Callaghan

Linda Haydon Callaghan, age 82, of the Pleasant Home community of Owen County, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Owenton Center.

Linda was born in the Pleasant Home community on June 15, 1940 to the late Richard and Margaret Thompson Johnson.  Linda suffered much loss in her life, being preceded in death by her two husbands, James Haydon and George Callaghan; her precious daughters, Missy Haydon Perkins and Kim Furnish; her grandson, Austin Spenneberg; and her brother, Larry Johnson.  She never let life beat her down and was a devoted member of theMt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and secretary/treasurer for many years. She enjoyed her membership in the Owen County Homemakers and served as a former President of the club.  She was instrumental in fundraising for Relay for Life as part of her church team. Linda also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing cards.

Linda is survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Charlotte Yancey and her "Little Buddy, Eli"; her son in law, David Furnish; her stepsons, Chris, George, and Michael Callaghan; her granddaughter, Madison Mann; and her niece and two great nephews.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2 pm, in the Owenton Cemetery. Bro. Dale Adkins and Pastor, Dale Griggs will officiate and memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church
