Leon Mcdonald

Leon McDonald, age 91, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St Elizabeth, Edgewood. Born April 26, 1931, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Clarence and Martha Lewis McDonald. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ailene and Ruby, and a brother, Clarence W Jr. (Junie). Leon proudly served his country through the Air Force, while stationed in Korea. He was later employed as a Plant Manager at Central Screw and later worked as a Purchasing Agent for the City of Frankfort. He was an avid fan of UK Basketball and enjoyed fishing and camping. He survived by his wife of 69 years Alice Ruth Rodgers McDonald; his children, Jeff (Wanda) McDonald and Juliana McDonald. Also, surviving are his grandchildren, Taylor (Morgan) McDonald, Kaylan Hird, Angie Gibson and Andrew (Mindy) Gibson; and seven great grandchildren; Logan, Alex, Olivia, Amiyah, Dustin, Colton, and Cainnon. New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. There will be a graveside service held, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at noon. Mr. McDonald will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Garden in Frankfort, Ky. Memorial contributions may be made to St Elizabeth Hospice.
