Leo Satchwell, 89, passed away Tuesday May 3, 2011. He was born in Sanders, KY the son of the late Virgil and Lula Woods Satchwell. Also preceding him were a grandson Gregory O’Brien, brothers, Walter, Marvin and Fletcher Satchwell and a sister, Jeanette Parker. Leo was self-employed having owned and ran many businesses over the years. He was also an Army Veteran of WW II having received the Purple Heart. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Jeffers of Warsaw and Carolyn Sampson of Union, a step-son, Tim Gayer of Nashville, a brother, Wilmer Satchwell of Mason ,OH, a sister Violet Moscoe of Warsaw, five grandchildren, Linda, Kelli, Lesley, Megan and Marsha, six great grandchildren, Christina, Jaclyn, Brooke, Landen, Ethan and Emily and two great-great grandchildren Lukas and Kailyn. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, at 1pm and visitation will be Thurs. from 4 to 8 at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ghent Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Activities Dept. of Gallatin Health Care. Leo Satchwell passed away Tuesday morning at the Gallatin Healthcare Center in Warsaw.
