Lenora Kelly Olds

Lenora Winscher Kelly Olds, age 98, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at St.Elizabeth Hospice.

Born July 15, 1922, in Covington, KY she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lucille McCord Winscher.  She was preceded in death by her husbands Howard Kelly and James Olds; her brothers, Lee and Fred Winscher; her daughter-in-law, Lana Kelly; and her grandchildren, Jami, Mikel, and Cody. She was a graduate of Holmes High School and retired from Farmers Bank in Gratz after 33 years of service. She was the oldest member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  Ms. Lenora was always on the go and embodied the word volunteer. She served at the Owenton Manor for years, leading her own Thursday ministry program where she played piano, sang, entertained, and enriched the residents' lives. She received Owen Countian of the Year in 2014 and also the Saunders-Brown Volunteer of the Year. She was active in the Gratz Homemakers and later the Pleasant Home Homemakers. Lenora was also a cancer survivor and was a yearly participant at Relay for Life.

Lenora was survived by the family of her late husband James Old. She will be missed by her children, John Kelly, Lawrence E. (Gail) Kelly, and Linda k. (Daniel) Williams; her grandchildren, Deanna, David, Mark, Kelly, Kim, and Danny Joe; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 11 am until 2 pm for a pass-thru visitation.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with limited seating.  Masks and social distancing will be required. Bro. Dale Adkins will officiate with burial in the Owenton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
