Larry House

Larry House, age 69, of the Monterey community, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Born July 19, 1953, in Georgetown, KY, he was the son of the late Robert and Loretta Devers House. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy House. Larry worked at Fruit of the Loom for over 21 years and retired from Southern States Cooperative. He served his community for many years, over 16 as the Owen County District 4 Constable and as the Monterey Fire Department Chief for over 27 years. He enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains, mowing hay, his outings with Brent Caldwell, and spending time with his family, especially Devin.

Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 23 years, Ernestine Raisor House; his children, Heather House and Robert Wayne (Donna) House; his stepsons, Philip (Stephanie) Taylor and Bradley (Tabitha) Taylor; his siblings, Ricky (Barbara) House, Judy Hambrick, Pam (Ed) Seale, Jennifer (David) Cornett, Timmy (Bonita) House, and John (Ulanna) House; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 11 am until 2 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Bro. Bob Miller and Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to either Monterey Fire Department or Monterey Cemetery.
