Larry Wayne Hammond

Larry Wayne Hammond, age 78, of Owenton passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Florence.Born September 9, 1939, in Owen County he was the son of the late Herbert and Nora McCain Hammond.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Mindi, granddaughter Hailey and brothers, Gene and Bernard.  Larry was a lifelong plumber serving Owen County for over 50 years.  he was also a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hannah Webster Hammond; his children, Lisha (Edward) Begley, Cindy (Robin) Dean, Tony (Brenda) Hammond, Larry Dale Hammond, Steven Hammond and Tiffany Hammond; his siblings, Leo Hammond, Anna New, Clarence Clifton and Bill Clifton.  Eighteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 5-8pm.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday with Bro. Brad Banks presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
