Lanny F. Walker

Lanny F. Walker, age 74, an Owenton native, died peacefully at his home on September 14, 2017 in Vacaville, CA.   Born to the late Robert F. and Lillian Walker on March 3, 1943, Lanny was one of five children and is survived by brothers, Buddy (Mary Lou) Walker, Randy (Karen) Walker and sister, Bobette (Jimmy) Olds all of Owenton.  He is also survived by his daughter Lanette (Brian) Crowley of Folsom, CA and a son Bobbie (Kelsie) Walker of Syracuse, UT, five grandchildren plus his life long partner, Christine Saltis of Vacaville, CA and her children, Jennifer (Andy) Bissett of Garden Grove, CA and Daniel Saltis of Marysville, WA.  He was preceded in death by his brother Ricky.   Lanny retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve on December 31, 1997.  He served with proud distinction and honor for 36 years, with his final assignment as a superintendent in the 60th Component Repair Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, CA.   McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of local arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from Noon to 1 with memorial services following at 1pm.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Owenton Cemetery.
