Kim Furnish, age 51 of Pleasant Home, passed away Thursday, February 17th at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born November 6, 1959 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Haydon and was preceded in death by her sister Missy Haydon. Kim was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of KY in the Attorney Generals Office, she was the Assistant Director for the Office of the Prosecutors Advisory Council. She retired after 27 years of service. Kim was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Church Clerk and Relay for Life Team Captain. She was also active in the Owen County Homemakers, serving as past president and Owen County Christmas Parade Chairman for many years. She is survived by her husband David Furnish, whom she married on July 12, 1985; her mother Linda Johnson Haydon; her nephew Austin Spenneberg and a host of friends and extended family. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Sunday, February 20th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday with Bro. Dale Adkins, Bro. Craig Howard and Bro. Fred Fishel presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
