Kennith Wayne O'Banion

Kennith Wayne O'Banion, age 74, of Owenton, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. Born on January 31, 1950, in Owen County, Kentucky, he was the beloved son of the late Melvin and Florence Wainscott O'Banion.

A man of simple joys and steadfast love, Kennith found great pleasure in gardening, raising vibrant flowers, and meticulously mowing his yard. A lover of classic Westerns, he often enjoyed the tales of heroes and the open range. Above all, Kennith will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving grandfather. His greatest joy came from playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories of laughter and love.

He will be missed by his wife of over 53 years, Wilma Jean Traylor O'Banion; his daughters, Sherry O'Banion and Tina Olds; grandchildren, Desiree Dunn, C.J. Thompson, Jalane Olds, and Mayson Olds; great-grandchildren, Brantlee Hearn, Israel Thompson, Wyatt White, Bryson Olds, Oak-Lynn White, Harlan Scherder, and Isiah Thompson; his brothers, Clifford, Woody, James, Marvin, William, and Melvin O'Banion; his sister, Betty Main; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family. His siblings, David, Jesse, Mary, and Annalou preceded him in death.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 3 - 5 pm.  A memorial service will follow at 5 pm with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier officiating.
