Kelley Patrick Cammack took flight to his next destination on Friday Oct 19, 2018 at the age of 41. At an early age it was clear that he had a love for music. He had a huge cassette collection that would rival any. As a child his grandparents took him and friends to see many musicians before they ever became famous. He attended Owen County High School where he was a drummer in the marching band. His love for music turned into a desire to make music. This desire led him to many places and venues where he shared his music with the world. He had music in him and wanted everyone to experience a good time either listening or joining in and playing along side him. Whether you were a little girl at the top of the basement steps, a little brother who was inspired by learning new music or in a mass of people at a show, you loved to hear him play. He felt people should broaden their horizons and his music did that. He was a true artist. A legend in disguise that believed true legends never die!
He said, “food feeds the soul,” and boy did he love to eat. His life was a buffet of many wonderful experiences, but nothing beat momma's home cooking enjoyed alongside family and friends. He truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. His legendary skateboarding and clothing style set him apart. He loved many things but his son Sorren was his pride and joy.
He also had skills in the area of horticulture. These skills led him to the west coast where he was a superb grower of medical marijuana. He studied everything about it and was unsurpassed in his product. He had a lot of friends who loved him unconditionally. In the end, all the love in the world couldn’t save him. Without any machine support his big ol heart kept beating for over ten hours. Some may say, “gone too soon,” one will say, “it is what it is".
He leaves to cherish his memory his son ,Sorren, his parents, Paul and Louanne Kelley Cobb and Dennis and Sue Cammack, his sister, Joyce New, his brother, Manuel Kelley, his grandmother, Mayme Kelley and his nephews Haze and Drift. He was preceded by his grandparents Larry Kelley and Doris and Enlow Cammack and his great aunt Mima Lynn. Visitation is Tuesday October 23 starting at 3 PM at the Owenton First Christian Church. A life celebration will begin at 7PM. The burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery on Wednesday at 2PM. Memorials may be made to a fund for his son Sorren and given through the McDonald & New Funeral Home.
