Juanita Dickerson Russell

Juanita Dickerson Russell,92, widow of Willis Alfred Russell, peacefully went to be with her Lord on April 28, 2014. Mrs. Russell lived in Frankfort, KY with her son Anthony and his wife Susan, but was a lifelong resident of Owenton until her move to Frankfort. Born April 24, 1922 in Owen County to the late Dupuy and Alverda Holbert Dickerson.  Besides her husband and parents, Juanita was preceded in death by brothers Ralph Curtis, Claude Elden and Edmund Reece Dickerson. Juanita was a faithful Christian, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her little buddy Wyatt Alexander Russell.  Also surviving are grandsons, Cameron Russell, Wesley Russell and his wife Bonnie, Frankfort; brother, Clayton Dickerson and his wife Jean, Harrison, OH; sister, Naomi Glore, Owenton; Sister-in-Law, Ruth Dickerson, Okeana, OH, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her devoted caretaker and grand-daughter,Bonnie Russell and the Hosparus Team. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday May 2, 2014 from 10am until 2pm.  Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Jim Craigmyle and Bro. Jesse Bourne presiding.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in Juanita’s memory be made Owenton First Baptist Church Family Life Center or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
