Joyce Roland Stack

Joyce Ann Roland Stack, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born on January 13, 1937, in Lusby's Mill, Kentucky, to the late Kepple and Beulah Juett Roland.

Joyce was a lifelong learner and educator. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, focusing on Radio and Television, from the University of Kentucky in 1958 and later earned an Associate's Degree from Kentucky State University. On September 27, 1958, she married the love of her life, George Stack, who preceded her in death.

Joyce dedicated her career to helping children with special needs. She retired from New Perceptions Child Development Agency, where she played a pivotal role in developing early intervention regulations for children with special needs.

A devoted member of Owenton First Baptist Church, Joyce was an active participant in the church community. She often sang in the choir, often as a soloist, and served as a Sunday school teacher, GA Camp Counselor, and a member of both the Women's Missionary Union and the Pastors' Wives Prayer Group. Joyce had a love for old movies and books, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially cherished the time spent playing UNO with her grandchildren.

Joyce's life was a testament to her faith, her family, and her dedication to helping others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Sam (Sue) Stack and Greg Stack; her grandchildren, Steven Stack, Rebecca (Jason) Shieh, and Gregory Stack; her great-grandchildren, Kai and Kenji Shieh and Jacob, Caleb, and Noah Stack.  She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Roland.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends for visitation, at Owenton First Baptist Church, on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 11 am until the time of the funeral at 1 pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro. Brad Banks presiding.
