Joseph Coleman "Joe" Stamper

Joseph Coleman "Joe" Stamper, age 85, passed away Friday June 2, 2017 in Frankfort. He was born in Gratz, KY in Owen County the son of the late Richard and Lucy Hundley Stamper and was also preceded by his sisters Mary Lou Lilly Cull and Dixie Bradford. Joe was married to the late Roberta Goodlett Stamper. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a truck driver. He was owner/operator of Owenton Express Inc. as he had a great desire for Owen countians to have jobs. Survivors include his children, Rickie (Debbie) Stamper, David (Donna) Stamper and Becky (Carl) Meehan, nine grandchildren, Nichole (Jason) Greer, Jameson (Alisha) Stamper, Desiree (Steve) Henslee, Daniel Bailey, Donnie Joe Stamper, Stephanie (Jonathan) Humphrey, Megan Stamper, Michael (Tiffany) Meehan and Sarah (Matt) Gravitt, four great grandchildren, Olivia, Colter, Liam and Sadie. Two brothers, Billy Nash and Charlie Stamper also survive.Visitation is Monday June 5 from 5 to 8 at McDonald & New - Seminary St. The funeral is Tuesday June 6 at 11 AM at Seminary St. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery.
