John Ruth

John Will Ruth, 77, of Owenton, died Saturday November 22, 2008 at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born, October 26, 1931, in Owen County he was the son of the late John Ruth, Sr. and Beulah Hunter Ruth and was preceded in death by his brother, James Ruth. John was a retired stone crusher for a rock quarry and a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a Korean Era Army Veteran in the Signal Corp. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Leticia Tackett Ruth; three sons, Steven Ruth of Elkhorn City, Mitchell Ruth of Demossville and John Will Ruth, III of Lexington; his step daughter, Sandra Lynn Whittaker of Maryland; his sister Jenna Louise Cole of Lexington; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation at the Main Street location on Tuesday, November 25th from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with John Hopkins presiding. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Charity of Choice
