John Porter Duvall, 86 and a resident of Covington, passed away Monday, February 9th, at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati. Born February 7, 1923, he was the son of the late John Thomas Duvall and Lula Parker Duvall. John was also preceded in death by his former wife Dorothy Rinschler; two brothers: Morris and Elmo Duvall; two sisters: Grace Stonestreet and Sybil Lusby; one granddaughter, Christy Sanford; and one step-daughter; Barbara Sanford. John was a Veteran having served his country in the United States Air Force and The United States Navy. He also worked as a contractor and cab driver. He is survived by two sons: John Patrick Duvall of Cincinnati and Michael Sanford of Florence; one daughter: Ramona Duvall Buckalew of Cincinnati; two brothers: Hugh Duvall and Melvin Duvall of Owenton; two sisters: Thelma Spaulding of Sparta and Adele Bowyer of Indiana; nine grandchildren: Stephanie, Wayne, Kimberly D., Sara, Kimberly S., Jennifer, Michelle, Shannon, and Michael; and seven Step-grandchildren: Paula, Paul, Allison, Edward, John, Tammy, and Kelly, Eighteen Step-Great-Grandchildren, Fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation for Mr. Duvall will be held on Thursday, February 12th, from 10am until 2pm at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 2pm. Burial will follow in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation.
