John Preston Cobb

John Preston Cobb, age 73, of Owenton passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home. John was the son of the late Fred and Iva Mildred Ginter Cobb and was also preceded in death by his brother Gary Cobb. He and his wife Mary owned and operated Cobb's Family Care Home for many years. John was a retired excavator and loved hunting and fishing. He was probably best know for his big heart, helping others and being a friend to many during his life. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Mary Rainey Cobb; his sons, John Cobb, Jr., Donnie Cobb and David Turner; his daughters, Deborah Kircher and Billie Jo Bush; his sister Brenda; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and his dear friends, Leonard Neal, Bobby Riddle and Bobby Howard. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Cobb Family Cemetery.
