John C. Butcher

John C. Butcher died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at the V.A. home in Wilmore, Ky. “Butch” was born on December 25, 1931. He was a graduate of the University of Ky and also a UK Fellow. He was a member of Lexington Country Club, The Wildcat Club, The Thoroughbred Club, The Pyramid Club and Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a Korean War veteran, stationed with the Air Force in Bryan, Texas where he trained pilots in the T-33 jet fighter. He was the manager of Kennedy Book Store for 30 years. His wife of 56 years is Ollie Dean Craigmyle. His daughter, Linda Spalding lives in Dallas, Tx with her husband, Tom. Their five daughters are Jennifer, Katelin (Eric Nickoli), Hannah, Rachel and Emma. His son is Dr. Jere (JoAnn) Butcher from Coshocton, Ohio and their son is John Michael. He was preceded in death by son Michael, brother Charlie, and parents Vivian and Owen W. Butcher. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 20th at Immanuel Baptist Church at 1:00 with visitation from 11:00 - 1:00. The graveside service will be immediate family only in Owenton, Ky.
