Joan "Joanie" Frazier

S. Joan “Joanie” Frazier, age 71, passed away Saturday Sept. 4th, at New Horizons Medical Center. Born August 8, 1939 in Ashland, KY she was the daughter of the late William B. and Evelyn M. Hicks Lucas. Joanie was a retired Administrator for New Horizons Assisted Living and was a registered nurse. She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and sewing. She is survived by her husband Rex E. Frazier of Sparta, two sons, Scott Frazier of Sparta and Tim Frazier of Lakeland, FL, four daughters, Wendy Newman of Richmond, VA, Lisa Snow of Princeton, KY, Kami Frazier of Sparta and Tina Frazier of Owenton, two brothers, William B. Lucas Jr. and Richard H. Lucas both of Kokomo, IN, two sisters, Frances M. Wade and Regina L. Bright both of Kokomo. Fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 7 from 10am til 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
