Jimmie Lee Morgan, age 82, of Perry Park, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Baptist Health in Louisville. Born on July 9, 1942, in the Squiresville community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Lester Giles and Lucille Stivers Morgan. He was the widow of Barbara Feebach Morgan and was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Towles. Jimmie had an accomplished career in corrections, starting as a prisoner transport officer at the LaGrange Reformatory and rising through the ranks at Kentucky State Penitentiary at Eddyville and Northpoint Correctional Facility before retiring as warden. In retirement, he focused on his golf game and spending time outdoors, camping and fishing, and enjoying farm life. Most of all, he was dedicated to his daughters and grandchildren. Jimmie also rarely missed watching Cowboy Church on television every Sunday. He will be deeply missed by his loving daughters, Leslee (Paul) Minch, Lucinda Morgan, and Lynda (Jerry) Blake; his beloved grandchildren, Brianna Jones, Ashton Turner, Brittany Croley, Alysha Minch, Cody Minch, and Preston Blake; eight great-grandchildren; and his niece Terri Dale Bagby. New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation at the Main Street location on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 11 am - 1 pm. Funeral services will follow a 1 pm with Bro. Craig Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Squiresville Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Cre Navigators or Kosairs Childrens Hospital.
