Jimmie King

Jimmie King, age 73, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, May 25th at his home. Born June 2, 1937, in Robbins, TN, he was the son of the late Porter King and Bonnie Brown Phillip and was also preceded in death by his siblings, Robert King and Lucille Jurgens. Jimmie was retired from the University of Cincinnati, where he was a Maintenance Superintendent. He was also an avid gardener and devoted grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Lillian Margaret “Lilly” Gaines King; his sons, James Gregory King and Jason Roland King both of Cincinnati; his daughters, Lillian “Maria Clark and Lisa Ann Romine of Cincinnati and Jennifer Lynn “Jenny” King of Owenton; his sister, Mary Harvey of Robbins, TN and his mother in law, Marie Gaines of Owenton. Eight grandchildren also survive. McDonald & New Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Remnant Baptist Church on Friday, May 27th from 10am to 2pm and funeral services will follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro.
