Jim Bob Olds

James Robert "Jim Bob" Olds, 39, of Owenton, passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home.

Born February 25, 1981, in Frankfort, he was the son of Jimmy Darrell and Bobette Walker Olds who survive. Jim Bob was a graduate of Owen County High School and was a lineman for Bowling Energy and had also worked for Cheyenne Construction.  He loved being outdoors, kayaking, fishing, hunting and bluegrass music. He was also a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working in the shop and welding. Jim Bob had a creative mind and appreciated landscaping challenges.

Jim Bob will be missed by his parents, Jimmy Darrell and Bobette Olds; his son, Maddix Olds; his sister, LaShonda (Mike) Fitzgerald; his nephews, Austin and Ethan Fitzgerald as well as a host of extended family and friends.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, October 9, 2020, from 1 - 3pm. This will be a pass-through visitation with social distancing and masks required. Graveside funeral services will follow at 3:30 pm with Bro. Danny Duvall and Bro. Mike Parks presiding. Please meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions my be made to the funeral home for expenses or to Long Ridge Baptist Church.
