Jerry Wright, age 62, of Sparta passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph in Lexington. Born October 1, 1950, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Ralph and Eunice Boone Wright and was preceded in death by his siblings, Marvin Eddie Wright and Nellie Jane Wright. Jerry was retired from the Commonwealth of KY, Department of Transportation. He was a mechanic at the Carroll County State Barn for 27 years. He was also a farmer, a member of the Baptist Faith and a life long mechanic, having built his first engine at just 15 years old. He was an avid outdoorsmen, who loved hunting, boating, fishing and just being in nature. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Myrtie Wilson Wright; his sons, Jeremy (Susanne) Wright, Wesley (Debbie) Wright and Jason Wright; his daughter, Jessica (Jarrod) Wilder; his brothers, Thurman "Tommy" Wright, Ralph "Junie" Wright and Ura Wayne "Moochie" Wright; his sister, Brenda Sue Howard and six grandchildren, Dylan, Madalyn, Jerramy, Amyllia, Savannah and Sierra. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, January 24th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25th at 11am. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Lung Association.
