Jerry Smoot

Jerry Smoot, age 71 and a resident of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, February 6th, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born June 14, 1946, he was the son of the late Carl and Margaret Smoot. Jerry was also preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon, David and Bobby Smoot as well as his aunt, Lucy Smoot.   Jerry was a farmer his entire life. He is survived by his wife, Pat; one son: Mike Smoot (Elizabeth) two grandchildren: Hayden and Hayley Smoot; one brother: Lester Smoot (Carla); one niece: Kim Hawkins; nephews: Darrell Smoot and Jesse Smoot and a special relative, Shirley Luther. His late brother, Vernon Smoot’s wife, Patty, also survives.   Visitation will be held Friday, February 9th, from 10am until 2pm at the Seminary Street Location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 2pm with Bro. Jeremy Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort Humane Society.
