Jerry Allnutt

January 31, 1936 — May 15, 2020

Jerry Allnutt, age 84, of Owenton, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Owenton Center.

Born January 31, 1936, in Owenton, he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Margaret Tolbert Allnutt.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Neal; his brothers, Marshall Clay, Bobby & Billy Allnutt and his son-in-law Jimmy Coyle. Jerry was a member of the Owenton First Baptist Church and a devoted member of the Owen County Volunteer Fire Department for 52 years. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years as a rural mail carrier.  Jerry also enjoyed watching UK Basketball.

He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Linda Clifton Allnutt; his children, Jenny Coyle, Jeffrey (Sheila) Allnutt, Robin (Gary Osborne) Landrum, Marty (Trish) Allnutt and Scott (Tracy) Allnutt; his sister Martha Landram and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.  Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, from 5 - 8 pm.  This will be a pass-through visitation with social distancing and visitors are encouraged to wear masks. A graveside funeral will be held in the Owenton Cemetery on Thursday at 2 pm with Bro. Brad Banks presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of one's choosing.
