Jeffrey Vernon Scott passed away December 2, 2025. Born the baby of the family on August 21, 1958 to the late Vernon and JoAnn Yelton Scott in Covington, Kentucky. His two older sisters Debbie Jo (Gary) Fogle and Diana (Frank) Forti survive.
His pride and joy were his kids Shannon (Jarrod) Chappell, Gina (Justin) Scott, Shane (Megan) Scott, Chad (Ashley) Scott, and Jessica Scott and his grandkids, Macie Chappell, Molly Goodrich, Lexie Chappell, Bailee Scott, Landen Scott, Lindzee Scott, and Callie Dempsey and step-granddaughter Addi Carmack all whom survive. His favorite saying was “they all got my good looks.” He is also survived by two nieces that he affectionately called “the twins” - Ashley Spille and Miranda Mullins.
He grew up in Boone County, farming through his childhood and young adulthood until he found his calling behind the wheel of a truck. He eventually planted roots with his family in Owen County, a community his children and grandchildren now cherish as home.
His life’s passion was driving trucks. Driving wasn’t just a job for him—it was who he was. He loved the long stretches of road, and the sense of purpose that came with every load he hauled. He took pride in doing things the right way, mile after mile, visiting most all states behind an 18-wheeler. His family takes comfort knowing he has reached his final destination.
He loved his family and friends, loved a good card game, loved to talk about the good ole days and tell stories.
He will be remembered for his hard work, his loyalty, and the love he carried for his family.
