Jeffrey Gene Martin

Jeffrey Gene Martin, known to most as Jeff, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 4, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on April 9, 1957, in Coshocton, Ohio, Jeff lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a deep appreciation for nature.

A man of many passions, Jeff was particularly fond of fishing, bonfires, and caring for animals, especially cats, whom he often rescued. His love for the outdoors and nature was matched by his enthusiasm for sports, particularly his unwavering support for Ohio State University football. In the early 1980s, Jeff dedicated many years to the community as a Little League coach for both baseball and football, where he inspired countless young athletes with his guidance and encouragement.

Celebrating the 4th of July brought great joy to Jeff, as he took great pride in organizing firework shows for the community in New Columbus for several years, creating lasting memories for friends and family.

Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, whom he married on August 10, 1980, Susan Myers Martin; his sons, Mitchell (Becca) Martin and Matthew (Melissa) Martin; his granddaughters, Lorelei and Linnaea Martin; and his brother, Jerry (Tammy) Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Bonnie Loader Martin.

As we remember Jeff, we celebrate a man whose kindness, love for family, and deep respect for nature touched the lives of all who knew him. Private services will be observed.
