Jean Smith

Jean Smith, age 70 and a resident of Greenup Road in Owen County, passed away Monday, August 23rd, at the New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton. Born August 16, 1940 in Madison County, Ky., she was the daughter of Hazel Rogers (surviving) and the late Curtis Rogers. Jean was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Smith. Jean was a farmer and homemaker and is survived by her husband, Paul Smith. Also surviving are eight sons: David, Paul, Jerry, John, Adam, Joe, Marcus, and Bud Smith all of Owen County; one daughter: Connie Asher of Owen County; two brothers: Roy Rogers of Berea and J.C. Rogers of Indiania; and one sister: Irene Rogers of Berea. Twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, August 25th, from 4-8pm at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26th, at 2pm. Rev. David Wotier will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery.
