Janet Frances Wingate

Mrs. Janet Frances Wingate, age 71, of Monterey, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born May 5, 1942, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Jane Rowlett Young. Janet was a retired beautician and a member of the Elk Lick Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Albert "Buddy" Wingate; three daughters, Tammy (Keith) Whitaker of Millville, Kimberly (Ricky) Crombie of Frankfort and Wyndie (Ali Bashi) Wingate of Austin TX; one sister, Wilma (Buddy) Cull; a sister in law, Mary Jo Young both of Owenton and five grandchildren, Aryn Taylor Whitaker, Tyler and Aaron Crombie, Matthew B. Whitaker and Alison Wingate. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, August 9th from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11am with Bro. John Thomas presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either Elk Lick Baptist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
