James Blake Wilson, age 75, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Jimmy, as most knew him, was born March 11, 1950 to the late James Lewis Wilson and Beulah Rae Stamper Wilson.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army and continued his service to his local community in 1973 by becoming a founding member of the New Liberty Fire Department. He was a former Assistant Chief and then became a Lieutenant later in life. For the majority of his life, Jimmy was a dairy and tobacco farmer as well as an inspector for Steel Technologies. In his free time, he was an avid collector of knives, pink dishes, Allis Chalmer tractors, and anything else that caught his eye at the 127 yard sale, which he attended every year with his wife.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Mary Wilson; his son, John (Leslee) Wilson; grandchildren, Kameren (Dedra) Wilson, Emmalee (Brandon) Inglis, Abbygale Wilson, Jordan Schlueter, Austin Wilson, Aleah Wilson; great-grandchildren, Brayven Inglis and Emersyn Wilson; siblings, Sherry Wilson (Larry) Ayres and Danny Ray (Virginia) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Wilson Gaddie.
New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held at the Main Street location on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, July 18th, 2025 at 11:00 am with Bro. Jared Gullion presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
Memorial contributiond may be made to the New Liberty Fire Department or the New Liberty Baptist Church.
