James M. Smith

Mr. James M. "Jimmy" Smith, age 76, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville. Born August 25, 1936, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Foster E. and Fannie Duvall Smith. He was preceded in death by his grandson, William Foster Tichenor and his brother William Smith. Jimmy retired from Bendix and was a farmer. He also served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Surviving are his wife, Helen McDonald Smith; his daughter Debbie (Carey) Tichenor of Versailles; his brother, Foster Smith, Jr. of Monterey; his sisters, Ann Furnish of Louisville, Martha Jane Broadus of Louisville, Betty Jean Forsee of Okeechobee, FL, and Elaine Massie of Troy, OH. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Monday, December 3 from 11am until 2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Bro. Everett Hawkins presiding. Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monterey Cemetery or The Smile Train.
