James W. "Jj" Jackson

James W. "JJ" Jackson, 84, passed away December 11, 2020 in Berea, KY. He was born on September 6, 1936 the son of the late Curtis Jackson and Glada Holder Maines. He was also preceded by his siblings, Florene Bishop, Norma Merriss, Margaret Bishop and Bud Jackson and step children, Carolyn Marksberry and David Giles. He was a former employee at Schlumberger and a veteran of the US Army. In his younger days he enjoyed racing cars and golfing. He is survived by his wife Liddie, his children, Theda Messick, Connie (Rick) Wallace, Dale (Paula) Jackson and Jimmy (Loretta) Harper, three step daughters, Lydia Hansen, Sandy (David) Chappell and Nannie (Tim) Webster. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 19, 2020 at 11:00AM. Visitation begins at 9:30 at McDonald & New - Seminary St. Memorials may be made to the Owen County Children's Fund.
