James R. Hudnall, age 79, of Owen County, passed away November 3, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born December 24, 1932, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Shadie R. and Ruby F. Noel Hudnall. Also preceding him in death were his granddaughter, Chasity Hopkins and his brothers Lloyd and Delbert Hudnall. Mr. Hudnall was a lifelong farmer, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Hudnall proudly served his county during the Korean Conflict as a tank driver in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Godman Hudnall; his son, Greg (Melissa) Hudnall; his daughter, Janet (Christopher) Hudnall Thorn; his brothers, Shadie Hudnall, Jr. and Danny Hudnall; his sisters, Edith Prather, Ann Prather, Joyce Blankenship, Barbara Gorski and Kathy Wainscott. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Kristin and Dusten Hudnall and James Robert Thorn. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's own choosing.
