James A. Daugherty

James A. Daugherty, age 65, of Owen County, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at his home.

Born January 26, 1955, in Charlestown, WV, he was the son of the late Fayburn and Margie Tines Daugherty and was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Tines and Michael Daugherty. Jim was retired from Toyota after 23 years of service and was an Independent Electrical Inspector.  He enjoyed being outdoors, he loved fishing, turkey hunting, boating and raising rabbits. He also served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married on June 3, 1978, Deborah Kay Mahoney Daugherty; his children, James Brannon Daugherty and Melissa Kay (Brandon) Bourne; his grandchildren, Mercedes AddisonBourne and James Peyton Bourne; his brothers, Doug McMurray and Tony Daugherty as well as several nieces and nephews.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Family Worship Center Carrollton on Saturday from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Pat Butcher presiding. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Elizabeth.
