James Edward Adkins, Jr.

James E. Adkins, 64, of Owenton, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Center in Edgewood. Born October 6, 1951 in Hamilton, OH he was the son of the late Ida Mae Couch Adkins, Sr. Mr. Adkins was a retired truck driver for Ryder. Surviving are his father, James E. Adkins; his companion, Patsy Basham; his children, Tammy (Jerry) Reece, Angel Thomas, Deanna (Mike) Medley, Donna Cheyenne Goins, Desarie Cherokee Williams; his siblings, Sue (Michael Powell) Turner, Wilma (Henry) Stamper, Thelma Wells, Lois Ann Adkins, Mary Hailey, Melvin (Tonya) Adkins and Tim (Michelle) Adkins as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A graveside service will be held at the Adkins farm cemetery on Tuesday at 2pm.
