Jackie "Tom" Thomas Burke

Jackie Thomas “Tom” Burke, 55, of Owenton passed away Thurs. August 27, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. Born May 11, 1954 in Owen County, he was the son of the late William Porter Burke and Jennie D. Hudgins Windings and was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shelby Carol Hudnall and his brother, Bobby Burke. Tom was retired from Bendix. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Osborne Burke; three sons, Johnnie Burke, Tim Hudnall and David Hudnall all of Owenton; two brothers, Micky Ray (Joyce) Burke of Williamstown and James Windings, Jr. of Texas; one sister, Mary Jean (Tim) McElroy of Benton, Arkansas. Six grandchildren, Tim Jr., Russell, Brittany, Kelsey, Blake and Austin also survive. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, August 28th, from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 1pm. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or New Horizons Medical Center.
