Jackie Thomas Osborne

Jackie Thomas Osborne, 80 of Owenton passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at his home. Born June 6, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Elva (Oakes) Osborne. Jackie was a Veteran having proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army. He was a member of Owen County High School’s first graduating class in 1952. Jackie was an active member of the Owenton First United Methodist Church where he served on several committees. He worked many years at the local factory before going to work and retiring at Kentucky Motors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, JoAnn (Perry) Osborne and his brother, Wm. Lendal Osborne. He is survived by his brother; Boots Osborne, his son Robbie (Rita) Osborne, Sr., his daughter Christel (Keith) Buffin; five grandchildren; Candace (Joe) Young, Robbie Jr, and Tommy Osborne, Ashley and Jack Buffin. Two great grandchildren; Audree and Bentley Young all of Owenton, his special friend, Sue Chisholm and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his dear friends at Family Billards, Smoker Friendly, Kentucky Motors and Cowboys. Visitation will be held Friday, January 24th, from 4-8 pm at the Seminary Street location of McDonald and New Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1 pm. Burial will follow in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Owenton.
