Jackie Dean Ogden, age 67, of Owenton, passed away Monday night, June 10, 2014, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 16, 1947, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Jack and Betty Dutton Ogden. Jackie was a retired lineman and a staking engineer for Owen Electric and a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting a fishing and time with his friends at the Eagle Creek Gun and Rod Club. Jack always had a smile, a story and loved picking and aggravating his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Becky Hawkins Ogden; his son, Brandon (Bille) Ogden of Owenton; his daughter, Shannon (Brian) Steed of Indianapolis; his brother, Scott (Becky) Ogden of Monterey; his sister, Pat (Jerry) Smoot of Frankfort and his six beloved grandchildren, Kallista, Jackson, Quinn, Grant, Laine and Ellen. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends. McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location on Friday, June 13th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday with Bro. Jeremy Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern KY.
