Iva Mccormick Gaines

Iva McCormick Gaines, age 94, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Owenton Center.

Born July 11, 1925, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Bramblett McCormick and the widow of Ernest Gaines.  She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Rebekah Blayne Allyn Gaines and her brothers, Ernest McCormick, Jr., and Roy McCormick. Iva was a member of the Richland Baptist Church and retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Department of Education.  She enjoyed sewing and baking.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Judy) Gaines of Colorado and Terry (Melissa) Gaines; her grandchildren, Bryan Gaines, Kyle Gaines, and Kathryn (Matt) Tate; and her great-grandchildren, Kellan, Delaney, Mallorie, and Luke.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. A private graveside service will be held on Monday in the Owenton Cemetery with Bro. Josh Yoder presiding. Memorial contributions may be made Richland Baptist Church or Bekas Toppers
