Ina Prather

Ina Riddle Prather, age 96, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Owenton Manor.

Born November 10, 1925, in the Severn Creek community of Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Alma Rice Riddle.  She was preceded ind death by her beloved husband, Vernon Smith Prather, Sr. and her son, Vernon Prather, Jr. She began her career working for Farmers Bank and retired as a bookkeeper for the Owenton News Herald after 24 years of service. She was a. devout member of the Owenton First Baptist Church where she was a Homebound Volunteer, worked the Family Life Center, and the Samaritan Food Pantry. She was a talented quilter who made 'Granny Blankets' for all of her family. She was a member of the Pleasant Home Homemakers.  Her greatest pride was being Granny Ina to her granddaughters, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her granddaughters, Sandy (Dan) Logan and Laurie (Gayle Lee) Stivers; her great grandchildren, Shelby (Nicholas) Carter, Cameron (Lindsey) Logan, LeeDrew (Stacey) Stivers, and Lavina Sauders; great-great-grandchildren, Carson, Cooper, Campbell, Mabel, Iris Jo, Elli Jean, Abe, Ben, Stella, and one on the way.  She is also survived by her brother, Billy Riddle and a host of extended family and friends, including several nieces and nephews.

New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Brad Banks presiding.
