Hugh Scott Keith

Hugh Scott Keith, 83 and a resident of Owenton, passed away Monday, October 20th. Born January 1925 he is the son of the late John Irvin Keith and Roxie Lee Poland. Scott was also preceded in death by a brother, Emmett, a half-brother Bill Keith, and a half sister Shirley Hutton. He retired from Owen Electric and was a member of the Owenton First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge # 128 in Owenton and a Kentucky Colonel. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. Scott is survived by his wife, Annette Smith Keith, one son, Mike Keith (wife Kathy) of Owenton, one daughter; Sandy Small (husband Steve) of Owenton, one brother; Marvin Keith of Owenton, and one sister; Ruth Furnish of Frankfort. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, from 4 until 8pm at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 2pm on Thursday, October 23rd. Rev. Wayne Kelly will be officiating and burial will be in the Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
