Hugh Jones Duvall, age 94, of Fairfield, OH and formerly of Owenton, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Tri-County Extended Care Center in Fairfield.
Born January 7, 1925 in Owen County, he was the son of the late John and Lula Parker Duvall and was preceded in death by several of his siblings, Grace Stonestreet, John P. Duvall, Adele Bowyer, Sybil Lusby and Morris Duvall. Hugh was a retired farmer who was ofter seen walking in town. He loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and KY Wildcats and playing cards. He was a devoted member of the Glencoe Church of Christ where he was an Elder. He was very musically inclined and blessed others with his talents of singing and playing the guitar and harmonica. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Hugh is survived by his daughters, Glenna (David) Slomer and Brenda (Harold) Trimble; his grandchildren, Kristin Tilley, Leigh Schlemmer, Dustin Trimble and Melanie Trimble; his great grandchildren, Ian, Zachary, Mia, Brynne, Kylie and Reese and his siblings, Melvin Duvall and Thelma Spaulding. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and extended family.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Keith Miller presiding. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell with military honors.
