Hope Renee Prather

Hope Renee Prather, aged 55, of Owenton, passed away on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026. Born on February 17th, 1971, in Fayette County, Hope was the daughter of the late Foster Wilhoite and Bobbie Susan Kanatzer. 

Hope was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to be a homemaker. In her free time she loved to craft and cook, and was known for her minute steaks. She also sold Paparazzi Jewelry, showcasing her love for accessorizing. Hope loved to help others, always lending a helping hand wherever she was needed.

Hope is survived by her husband, Vester Prather; children, Chasity Suttles and Andrew Suttles; her stepchildren, Barbara Jean Epperson, Billy Wayne Prather; grandchildren, Blake and Destiny Epperson; three great grandchildren; siblings, Scotty Kanatzer, Cecil (Mary) Webster; and her nieces, Linda Ann Webster and Barbie Rainey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Bobbie Susan Wilhoite and her sister, Becky Jacobs.

A graveside service will be held at the Mt. Hebron Cemetery on Friday, August 28th, 2026 at 1:00 pm, with Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding.
