Herschell Duane Hensley

Herschell Duane Hensley, 61, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, December 8th at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born July 22, 1948, in Holbrook, he was the son of the late Ward Russell Hensley and was preceded in death by his infant brother. Herschell was retired from Richardson Contracting as a lead mechanic and had worked recently for the East Adair Apartments as their maintenance man. Herschell was a member of the Squiresville Baptist church and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He is survived by his long time special friend, Dianne Kelley of Owenton; his mother, Leunetta Scroggins Hensley of Owenton; his sons, Russell (Lindsey) Hensley of Frankfort and Dustin (Cindy) Hensley of Owenton; three brothers, Barry Hensley of Williamstown, Ward Douglas Hensley and Christopher Lee Hensley of Owenton; two sisters, Beverly McNay and Pam Smoot both of Owenton. Two grandsons, Clayton and Tennyson Hensley also survive. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location, Thursday, December 10th, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday with Bro. Craig Howard and Bro. Dale Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Holbrook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Squiresville Baptist Church.
