Helen Mason Osborne

Helen B. Mason Osborne, age 86, of Owenton, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born January 11, 1934, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Wilma Parker Mason.  She was the widow of Freddie Clay Osborne. They were married on June 4, 1955 and celebrated over 53 years of marriage when he preceded her in death in 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Irville, Everett, Norman T., Hugh M and James P Mason; her sisters, Ama Wright, Dorothy David and Betty Ann Mason. Helen was a member of the Faith Rebekah Lodge #123 and a member of the Lusby's Mill Baptist Church.  She enjoyed life to the fullest, was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors.  She was an employee of Owen County Memorial Hospital as a bookkeeper and receptionist from 1957 to 1978, then executive secretary and receptionist at Textron, which was purchased by Schlumberger Ind., from 1978 to 1994 at which time she retired.

Helen will be missed by her daughters, Gayla (Patrick) Gorman of Florence, KY and Vicki (Paul Jr.) Gibson of Owenton; her granddaughter Michelle (Craig) Barnett of Georgetown; her sister, Louise Gordon of Worthville and a host of nieces and nephews.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4 - 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday with Bro. Steve Delaney presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Lusby's Mill Baptist Church or Owenton Fire Department.
