Helen Joyce Miller

Helen Joyce Miller, age 80, of Owenton, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY.

Born November 23, 1940, in New Richmond, OH, she was the daughter of the late Milton James and Rissa Ina Sowder Hackney. She was the widow of James Miller and a homemaker.   She was a strong woman who loved her family, loved her dog Daisy, fishing, and always enjoyed a cigarette and Mt. Dew. She was looking forward to welcoming her 53rd great-grandson, on the day she passed.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn St. John, Johnny Thomas (Rebecca) Herbert, Nancy May York, Ardella (James Farrell) Herbert, James William (Dana) Herbert, Marta J. (Joe) Huebner, Helen Joyce (Robert) Gallagher, Tammie (Ken) Griffin, Bee B. (Matthew) Harris, and Pamela Jo Jones; thirty-five grandchildren; and fifty-three great-grandchildren.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 2 - 4 PM.
