Hattie Mae Scruggs

Hattie Mae Scruggs, age 87, of New Liberty, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. Born August 23, 1924, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Emma Gayle Washington and the widow of Robert Scruggs. Mrs. Scruggs was retired from Square D Electric and a member of the Second Baptist Church of New Liberty. She is survived by her sons, Don and Billy Scruggs of New Liberty; her sister Ernestine Clayborne of Lexington; her grandchildren Christie and Brian Scruggs and eight great grandchildren. McDonald and New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Second Baptist Church New Liberty on Saturday, May 5th from 11am to 1pm. Funeral services will follow at 1pm with Rev. James Kendricks officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church New Liberty.
