Harrison C. Wright

Harrison C. Wright, age 92, of Glencoe, passed away July 15, 2019, at his home.

Born January 25, 1927, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Harry B. and Cecil Jones Wright.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Fisk, Jewell Whitney, and Mildred Johnson. Mr. Wiright served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He worked for many years for Long Brothers Bag Company, was a lifelong tobacco farmer and loved gardening and watching wrestling.

He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Dorothy Lilly Wright; his children, Daniel Harrison Wright, Nora Ruth Ledesma, and Nathan Taylor Wright; his grandchildren, Olivia Parker, Heath Sturgeon, and David Wolfe and his great-grandchildren, Tristan Parker and Thomas Hearn. He is also survived by his brother, Gene Wright.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Friday, July 19, 2019, from 11 am until 1 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Bro. Brad Banks presiding. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
