Harold Smith

Richard "Harold" Smith, age 83, of Owenton, passed away at his home on April 29, 2021.

Born September 14, 1937, he was one of twelve children born to the late Sim Lee and Lulia Wilhoite Smith. He was preceded in death by his siblings, S.J. Smith, Charlotte Burke, Mae Walker, and David Smith. Harold was a lifelong farmer who raised tobacco, was a fisherman, and a dump truck driver.

He will be missed by his longtime companion, Juanita Osborne; his children, Richard Harold "Richie" Smith, Karen McDonald, Jo Ann Harrod, and  Connie Tompkins; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Mary Bramblett, Glenna Long, Ray Smith, Linda New, Brenda Miller, Larry Smith, and Judy Smith.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. There will be no services at this time.
