Harold Thomas (Tommy) Kemper, a Monterey resident, passed away Monday, May 11th, 2026 at age 87.
Tommy was born in Franklin County on June 26, 1938, he was the son of the late John Linden Kemper and Aleane Perkins Kemper. He was a retired electrician and a member of the Monterey Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Brenda Faye Gaines Kemper, his parents; John Linden Kemper and Aleane Perkins Kemper, as well as a sister; Peggy Kemper Roberts.
He is survived by three daughters and one son; Marcella (Lawrence) Wright of Monterey, Lucinda (David) Janes of Salvisa, Felechia (David) Wainscott of New Liberty, and Darrell (Lisa) Kemper of Frankfort, seven grandchildren; Brian Howard, Tyne Wainscott Nieman, Joshua Wright, Sagan Wainscott Pelfrey, Jensen Wainscott Brown, Ethan Kemper, and Logan Kemper, nine great-grandchildren; Easton Howard, Kemper Nieman, Linden Pelfrey, Charleston Pelfrey, Lakelyn Nieman, Wells Pelfrey, Lena Brown, Murphy Brown, and Garrett Kemper.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 15th at New Funeral Home at the Seminary Street location from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow the same day at 1:00 pm with Bro. Everett Hawkins presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be : Brian Howard, Joshua Wright, Ethan Kemper, Logan Kemper, Aaron Nieman, Mikael Pelfrey, and Nathan Brown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators in his memory.
